Recycling of expanded polystyrene

 

Due to the stability of the EPS material, the increasing amount of EPS waste has caused serious "white pollution", resulting in an increasingly deteriorating ecological environment. One method is to smash EPS waste directly as a low-density additive with other materials (such as concrete, gypsum or natural fibers) to make lightweight new materials, such as lightweight roofing insulation.Another method is to reduce the volume of EPS waste by heat densification, cold crushing or cold compression, and then regranulate. The EPS particles are then directly processed or mixed with other high polymer materials (such as linear SBS) to form plastic alloys, such as flower pots, video tapes, furniture, building materials or thermal insulation materials.
