What is a flame retardant foam board?

 

The foam board is a white object made of expandable polystyrene beads containing a volatile liquid foaming agent and heated in a mold after preheating. It has micro-closed-hole structural features, and is mainly used in building walls, roof insulation, composite board insulation, cold storage, air conditioning, vehicles, ships, thermal insulation, floor heating, decoration carving and other uses.

It can be made by foaming materials with flame retardant properties or ordinary foam (polystyrene) added with flame retardant materials during foaming. Flame retardant is one of its most basic properties. It is generally extinguished from fire or cannot be burned directly to achieve the effect of flame retardant. The flame-retardant foam board will not burn when it is burned by fire. It will shrink when it encounters a fire, but it will not generate high temperature and open flame. Generally, this material is used for the partition wall of the workshop.
